Year 9 Trip to Poland

37 Year 9 students had a memorable week in Poland between the 4th-10th July where educationally the students looked at the death camps of Auschwitz-Birkenhau and culturally explored the city of Krakow and discovered more about Polish language, cuisine and customs. The trip formed part of the year nine citizenship and history schemes of work and whilst in Poland students explored the impact of the Nazis on Poland during the war by visiting the Oskar Schindler Factory. We were also lucky to visit the Premiership football stadium of Wisla Krakow, the salt mines of Wieliczka and to round off the trip we all went to the Wodny Water Theme Park. Overall the trip was a fantastic opportunity for the students which we hope will become a regular fixture in the school calendar.
