Religious Education - Year 7

Half Term 3 – Christianity

After learning about Judaism students will be taught about Christianity.  Christians believe in the same God as Jews but also believe that Jesus was the Son of God and revere both the Old Testament of the Bible and the New Testament which was written about the life of Jesus.

We understand that for a large number of our students who regularly attend church that there will be much they already know and we will hope to use their knowledge in class.

Students will learn the key features of Christianity; what Christians believe, how Christians worship, the history of Christianity, the different types of Christians and of course the New Testament which has had an impact upon all of our lives.

Throughout Year 7 students have one lesson of Religious Education per week.  Students will learn about five of the worlds major religions; Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism.
