Religious Education - Year 7

Half Term 4 – Islam

After learning about Judaism and Christianity students will learn about the third major world religion that believes in God, Islam.  People who follow the Islamic religion are known as Muslims.  As well as revering the Old and New Testaments of the Bible Muslims follow what was taught by Mohammed and written in the Qur’an.

Students will learn the key features of Islam; what Muslims believe, how Muslims worship, the history of Islam and will learn about the holy book of Islam, the Qur’an.

Throughout Year 7 students have one lesson of Religious Education per week.  Students will learn about five of the worlds major religions; Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism.
