Year 7 France Trip

News & Events

French trip to Azincourt, Friday 11th June.

I got up at 4am and I was really tired. I got dressed and went to school to meet my best friend Jessica Lee. We had a right laugh, waiting for all the other people to arrive. After everyone had arrived we all waved goodbye to our parents and got on the coach! It was a long journey to France.

When we got there we were put into groups and went for a look around the medieval museum! It was really interesting.

After that we went to have lunch in town. It was really nice food and I found it easy to communicate with other French people!

We then went for a wander in town and I bought a couple of things for my family.

Then we went to the supermarket, where I bought some French cheese! I also bought some champagne for kids!

I had a great time!

French trip to Azincourt, Friday 11 June

On Friday 11 June I went on a trip with the school to France. I got up at 4 in the morning (I never knew that could be possible for me). But I can assure you that it was worth it. I got to school for around 5 o'clock, and we left at about quarter to six.

The journey was great - I thought that would be the boring bit but it really wasn't. Everyone had a laugh. And there were smiles on every single person's face. EVEN THE TEACHERS!! The journey took about 2-3 hours. At the half way point we got a new coach driver. Our coach driver was now Jeff. Jeff took us to the Eurotunnel (if you're not sure what the Eurotunnel is, it is a big train which has different slots were the coaches or cars can go. The Eurotunnel went underwater you couldn't see the water out the windows though because you were in the tunnel.

When we arrived at France everyone cheered, and were saying “Guess what we're in a different country to our parents, how weird is that!” Nevertheless it was a lot of fun. My phone went from being o2 to a French network (pretty strange). The sign posts were all in French as well it was a great experience.

The first place we went to was the museum. It was all about a war between France and England. We took a lot of pictures and learnt stuff like, England won the war “yippee!”

After that we went to a restaurant we all had chicken and chips yummy we got to order it in French too. The waiter started speaking to me but the problem is I didn't have a clue what she was talking about so I just nodded my head pretending I understood. I am definitely going to listen more in my French class so if I go back there I will understand more about what they're talking about and will be able to speak back to them hopefully.

We next went to the village where we went about in groups and looked in the shops. Then we went to the supermarket where we all bought some souvenirs and little things for our families and friends.

We did the same journey back just the other way round everyone was tired and some people fell asleep. We got back to school for quarter past nine. This trip was a great experience and I hope I can go back there again another time in the future.
