We also understand that learning happens in a well-ordered and respectful environment and therefore we have the highest expectations with regard to personal conduct. I am sure this reflects the expectations that parents and carers themselves have of their children at home and we make it a priority to work closely with them to secure the best possible progress for each of our students by ensuring their individual needs are met.

We at Gaynes believe that examination success is vitally important in providing young people with a range of positive choices when they leave our care but also that this is only part of their educational experience. For our students to move on to the next phase of their lives with confidence they need to develop interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with others. This is why our students are encouraged to take part in decision making, participate in broader activities and work together to solve problems.

Our Language College status exemplifies this focus on very high standards in exam performance at the same time as engaging with the wider world – not just through language lessons but across every subject and in the day-to-day life of our community.

Our Applied Learning specialism complements the practical benefits of learning other languages but also demonstrates our determination to provide clear links between the whole curriculum and the world beyond the school.

We are confident that a visit to Gaynes will leave you impressed with the professionalism of our staff, the forward thinking and exciting learning experiences they provide and our students who themselves are the best advertisement for the all round education we offer.

Mr W. Edgar
